Greetings Friends of Fancy Cats!
We're in the midst of kitten season! We certainly could use some additional foster homes and adoption coordinators, so please contact us if you're interested in volunteering. Thank you for continuing to support our work through your contributions of time and money. We appreciate your generosity!
Last week was National Volunteer Appreciation Week and we would like to send a very hearty "THANK YOU" out to all of our volunteers. Your love for the cats and dedication to our mission are what sustain our organization and help us continue to be the biggest feline rescue group in Virginia. We have the best volunteers!
UPCOMING EVENT: Adopt-A-Thon At All PetsMart Locations
PetsMart stores nationwide will be hosting their Spring Adopt-a-thon on the weekend of May 1-3, 2009. We will have cats at all four of our locations and most of our locations will be hosting adoption events on both Saturday and Sunday. Please view our list of adoptable cats and contact us through the link on the page of the pet that you are interested in meeting. We'll make sure that you meet your new friend as soon as possible!
SUCCESS STORY: Miles
Miles is feeling very much at home and comfortable freely roaming all three levels of his new residence. Initially, he stayed on the first floor and was a little skittish. He is very affectionate, friendly, and playful. He has really taken to my two boys and they to him. I had some friends come by the house yesterday and Miles went right to them like life-long friends. He has come a long way in the last two weeks. Thanks for all that you do! ~ Tom
JUST A REMINDER: We Collect Coke Rewards Point
Fancy Cats collects Coke Rewards points to trade in for items that we can use for auctions or raffles. Please save your bottle caps, cardboard case box ends and plastic case sides with the rewards codes and send them to us. You can email them to us, mail them to the PO Box below, or bring them to one of the PetsMart stores where we hold adoptions.
FEATURED KITTY: Kitty!
Kitty is a magnificent tuxedo with pale green eyes. She is a highly intelligent cat, as you can see from her expressive face. She is very people-oriented (she does not seem to realize she is a cat herself!) and prefers to be your one-and-only. Kitty loves to snuggle in bed and will make an awesome companion for the right lucky person. Please consider Kitty -- she's been waiting a long time for that purrfect someone. See more about Kitty on these videos! (WMV Format or Quick Time Format) You can come to meet Kitty at the Springfield PetsMart adoption fair every Sunday from noon to 4 pm.
We have a bunch of other great kitties who do not do well at adoption fairs. If you are interested in meeting one of our featured kitties, or any of those other wonderful adults, please email us to set up an appointment
