Our Deepest Sympathies and Thanks We at Fancy Cats would like to extend our sympathies to the family of Alma Tolins. Ms. Tolins, a life-long cat lover, passed away in July. Her family requested that donations be made in Alma's name to our organization. There are no words appropriate enough to express our gratitude for the generosity expressed by many of Alma's friends in her honor.
Featured Cat: Coco Chanel
Coco Chanel had lived her entire life with one owner who suddenly started to travel too much with a new job and no longer had time for her. Coco is a smart, beautiful cat with big eyes and a big heart. Speaking of her big heart, the best way to win Coco Chanel's heart is through her tummy! She eagerly anticipates her meals (she prefers to get several small meals throughout the day)! Coco is mostly quiet, but likes to talk back when spoken to, and will especially let you know when she's hungry. Coco loves lying in sunbeams, and is happiest when someone is home keeping her company. She doesn't do well with other cats, and is not used to dogs. Coco has a LOT of play in her, and loves tossing around her toy mice, chasing the laser dot, or jumping and catching strings and feathers on sticks. She is 100% scratching post trained, and hasn't touched a piece of furniture with her claws in years, nor does she jump on counters or tables. She would be a wonderful companion in a quiet, adult home. She has been waiting too long to find her new home, please consider this gem of a kitty.
We have a bunch of other great kitties who do not do well at adoption fairs. If you are interested in meeting one of our featured kitties, or any of those other wonderful adults, please email us to set up an appointment.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: We Need Your Help!
We really need some help with our cats at the Gainesville Petsmart. Specifically, we need a person or people to check on the cats a few days each week and to do laundry as necessary. If you can help our Gainesville kitties, please contact Danielle at volunteer@fancycats.org
Do you want to help our kitties find their forever homes? Do you enjoy talking to people about cats? You could be an Adoption Coordinator! Please contact Danielle for more information about this or any other volunteer jobs listed on the Volunteer page
