Greetings Friends of Fancy Cats!

Happy Holiday Season!
We at Fancy Cats Rescue Team would like to express our appreciation to you, our adopters, donors and volunteers. This year has seen many of us stretched to our limits, both financially and emotionally. Together we have continued to educate the public about spay & neuter programs, advise on cat behavior, rescue countless cats who were at death's door, and place some truly wonderful cats in their new homes. We are profoundly grateful to have such dedicated supporters. We wish you and your family and friends a very happy Thanksgiving.Happy Thanksgiving

Holiday Henry's FCRT Thrift Store is Almost Empty! The unofficial thrift store that Henry & Julie Spall are running out of their Reston garage is almost empty. Thanks to continuous sales on CraigsList and to community garage sales they have sold almost all of the donations contributed by FCRT members. They have raised over $750 for FCRT. Please help them get to $1000 by year's end by looking through your unused and unwanted stuff and donating it for Fancy Cats. The best sellers are CD's and DVD's, small appliances, electronics of any kind, small furniture (chests of drawers, tables, lamps, etc), bikes and children's toys. Sorry, but clothes and books are hard to sell (you can donate these to Vietnam Vets or the Salvation Army). Contact Henry at Geordie@his.com or 703-860-1356. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.

November is Adopt A Senior Cat Month!

Josie is a loving lap kitty. When you look into her beautiful green eyes, you can see clear through to her gentle soul. She needs an adult home. Very easy to take care of. Loves laying in sunny places and to be near her humans. Poor girl was given up due to the arrival of a new baby in her previous family. Josie has the early stages of hyperthyroidism so really needs someone who will give her the care and one-on-one attention she needs

Home for the Holidays, But What Happens When the Decorations Come Down?
Every year, animal shelters receive a surge of unwanted pets after the winter holidays, when the animals are given up after the owners have lost interest or are unable to care for them. Unfortunately, many will be euthanized due to lack of available homes. Instead of adopting a live animal as a gift, consider giving homemade gift certificate. When the recipient opens the gift, the giver can explain that the intent is to find the perfect pet for the recipient, which can only happen when the recipient and his/her entire family are involved in the search process.

Bringing any pet into a new home should be done only after carefully assessing the family's ability to meet the animal's needs and after seeking information from experts. If you are interested in adopting a cat, we are ready and waiting to help you choose the perfect match for your family. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Our goal is to place our cats into permanent, lifetime homes with loving families.
